Downtown Council’s Annual Painting of the PawPrints
Stay tuned for the 2017 Painting of the PawPrints information…
What is PawPrints? Read the press release from last year’s event below:
More than 500 people came out early Saturday morning to help paint the yellow paw prints on Bay Street from the base of the Main Street Bridge to EverBank Field. Families, business leaders and Jaxson de Ville used yellow paint and stencils to freshen up the paw prints and show support for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hosted by the JAX Chamber’s Downtown Council, the event featured the ROAR of the Jaguars, the D-Line and members of Bold City Brigade.
With AXA Advisors as the event sponsor, teams were formed and dropped off at various points along Bay Street and painted all 263 paw prints on Bay Street leading to the stadium. Once the painting was finished the crowd gathered for an after-party featuring food trucks at the Lot X parking lot at Bay Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard.
The event began in 1995 as a small Downtown Council project for council members, but has since grown into an annual family-friendly event with hundreds of participants of all ages. The first 300 people to register for this year’s event received a ticket to a Jaguars preseason game.
